The NYUL Small Business SOLUTIONS Center is Open for Business.

Updated: Nov 28, 2021

We opened for business with the formation of our Small Business SOLUTIONS Center (SBSC) in Spring 2021. Our first order of business was to lead eighteen local businesses to NYUL brokered long term relationships to bring critical capital to entrepreneurs. Thanks to Ford Motor Company, we were able to infuse their cash flow with micro-grants of $5,000 each. In this current economic environment, business owners are scrambling to meet basic overhead; micro-loans add cash for things like PPE, soft marketing, and equipment.

We took our SBSC strategy to the next level in late Summer when we introduced the “Back Office” initiative. Twenty-five businesses onboarded to represent our first cohort. These businesses receive up to 50 hours of services in Technology, Human Resources, Business Management, Finance, and Marketing from seasoned professionals at no cost to the business. The program concludes in time for holiday goals on November 30, 2021.

In addition to launching the micro-grant and back-office programs, we queued up SBSC online workshops, which kicked off with, POP Your Profit, a tailored workshop for businesses that participate in POP-UP events throughout the year. EachThe attendees were provided reference materials and knowledge to keep their bottom-lines popping.

Next up is GAME PLAN – the workshop on Monday, November 29, 2021. If you are a business owner or serious side-hustler who wonders why your 2021 goals have not been met, then this is for you. Let’s work together to make 2022 the best year yet. In the meantime, make registering for this workshop a priority on your to-do list. IT'S GOING TO BE A GAME CHANGER!

The SBSC theme for Black History Month 2022 is BLACK BUSINESS MATTERS. We are launching a 10-week business plan boot camp. Our recruiting will begin on the heels of the New Year. We are looking for future entrepreneurs who want to start a business by diving into the business plan process. Only twenty-five candidates will make the cut.
