Our HBCU ALL-STARS mentorship program pairs HBCU graduate with NYUL Young Professionals with top achieving HBCU University students to provide crucial peer to peer support that ensure pathways to academic success. As alum, YP mentors leverage known social-emotional intelligence to foster loyalty and alliances that expose the mentee to new possibilities, places, networks, and experiences to help students gain the tools needed to achieve post-secondary goals in college, work, and life. Guided by strategic college survival retention practices, this development track harnesses academics as a pathway to job readiness pipelines as steps towards economic empowerment for African Americans.
