About the event

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the New York Urban League’s Project Ready series at Bronx Legacy High School and Careers in Sports High School.  Mentors can volunteer to support students in various capacities, including leading sessions, providing guidance, and assisting students as they navigate post-secondary readiness challenges. March 20, 2024 - Theme: Getting Ready to Graduate

  • Introduction to post-secondary readiness
  • Overview of the senior year checklist tasks
  • Discussion on the importance of planning for the future
  • Decision-making strategies and tips for choosing the right college or post-secondary path

March 27, 2024 - Theme: Financial Planning

  • FAFSA and financial aid information session
  • TAP application assistance
  • Personalized guidance on completing FAFSA and TAP forms
  • Discussion on college acceptance letters and decision-making process
  • Guidance on evaluating college options and financial aid packages

April 3, 2024 - Theme: Career Exploration Day

  • Presentation on NYUL Career services and available jobs and programs for 18+
  • Interactive sessions on exploring different career paths
  • Q&A session with professionals from various industries
