About the event
There is little doubt that the COVID pandemic has laid bare the inequities that are prevalent not only in the health care but also the criminal justice, housing, and educational system. Â Â Students sent home to learn in crowded housing environments with little, lacking or no technology have fallen further behind. Â And yet with a new administration and the passage of the American Rescue Plan, there is opportunity. Â Nowhere is that opportunity felt more acutely then in NYC where we have state and local elected officials who mirror the demographics and share the priorities of those most in need. Â Now it is imperative for educators, parents, teachers, and community members to come together to develop a shared agenda for our children. Â Join us on May 24, 12-2:30pm for our statewide Education Summit: Â The Urgency of Now. Â Â The Summit will feature local and statewide educational Superintendents, Chancellors, and members of the Board of Regent. Â The Summit will open with remarks from Chancellor Lester Young of the Board of Regents.
