NYUL CEO on addressing challenges facing Black New Yorkers
Arva Rice, president and CEO of the New York Urban League ā an organization dedicated to empowering African Americans ā highlighted the impact of the federal administration on employment, noting a significant loss of jobs for Black women. She said the Urban League is providing A.l. training and other support to help people secure employment. Rice also talked about the Empowerment Center in Harlem, which includes affordable housing and offices. Rice discussed how the league supports small businesses through a Small Business Solution Center and an Equity Innovation Lab, which focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion.
