Employment and Career Services

NYUL’s employment services are tailored to meet the individual needs of those we serve. Through our Career Preparation Institute with an assigned career counselor. Services include orientation, an employability assessment, computerized career interest profile, career readiness workshops, career & talent matching, training programs referrals, access to job bulletins, internet and computer access for self-guided job search, and resume reconstruction.

Retail Operations Certification Training Course

The retail operations course is geared toward recently hired associates, students, and interested retail associates and employees who need new skills. Course content covers an overview of the retail industry, customer service, sales, and operational concepts. Coursework includes case studies, group discussions, and analytical activities to re-create real-world scenarios. Candidates can earn the customer service certification by passing a 75-question online assessment.

 

The National Professional Certification in Retail Management and Professional Certification in Customer Service are industry-driven and endorsed credentials to help employers identify qualified customer service professionals, and help define career advancement opportunities for candidates while recognizing their existing and potential managers. Both were developed with support from the U.S. Department of Labor and American Express Foundation. These credentials define a new level of career advancement to motivate retail leaders to stay and grow in their jobs.
