In our community, NYUL is often the first point of contact about all things "college" for many high school students who matriculate through our college prep programming and eventually attend our College Tours. Students surveys reveal that most receive very little personalized guidance regarding college admissions, making it a very difficult road for many under-resourced families to navigate. Many students, not thinking about college until senior year, and are often too late, limiting their options. Our pre and post tour programming levels the playing field by offering unparalleled, customized admissions guidance that includes creating a plan, understanding the "process steps", creating a balanced school list that reflects chances for academic success, steps to evaluating colleges for consideration while on tour, and the essay process.
