The New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators, Inc. (The Association) is preparing for its 44th Annual Legislative Conference, which convenesFebruary 13- 15, 2015 in Albany, New York. This annual statewide event allows The Association to raise scholarship funds for the educational advancement of African-American, Hispanic, and other minority youth. Our theme this year is “United We Stand!”
The vision of The Association has been to maintain and expand the existing programs that benefit our statewide constituency while at the same time partnering with corporate America to achieve this goal. The New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators, Inc. (NYSABPRL) was founded by legislative caucus members as a non-political, charitable organization, incorporated under section 402 of the New York Not-for-Profit Incorporation Law on October 11, 1985. The purpose of the NYSABPRL is to promote the common good, social and general welfare of the community; foster and maintain an interest in racial tolerance in the world; to encourage the development of the community and promote economic growth.
