COVID-19 Update

To Our New York Urban League Community

In keeping with Governor Cuomo and Mayor DeBlasio’s safety guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID- 19, the New York Urban League staff will work remotely until the end of the month of March.
Our State of Black New York report release and Town Hall have been postponed.  For our Young Professionals, we are canceling all face to face activities until March 31, 2020. This will include the following scheduled activities: Membership Retreat, General Body Meeting, Committee Meetings and 5 Borough Day of Service.

As you know our Centennial Gala is scheduled at the Zeigfeld Ballroom for June 1.  We will closely monitor the corona virus recommendations and determine if we will need to postpone this event to the Fall.

In the meantime, we are building on our existing relationship with a local Food Pantry to make sure the students and families in our programs have access to nutritional meals.  We will provide additional information in the next few days about how you can support our neighbors as they wade through the looming economic crisis.

During this time of uncertainty, we want to share with you a few resources, encourage you to practice all safety precautions and only go out when necessary.  We also want to encourage you to reach out to family, loved ones, neighbors and friends by phone and by text.  For over 100 years the New York Urban League has stood by the children and families of our great City and we will continue to do so.

In Service,

Arva R. Rice

President and CEO
