The Role
The Grant Administrator, State Fund is a key role responsible for the effective and equitable distribution and management of an $8 million grant fund to nonprofits serving under-resourced communities. Reporting to a senior leader, this role ensures the integrity of the grant process, from competitive solicitation through grant execution and collaboration. The Administrator works closely with three other funded entities and the grantee network to maximize the fund's impact and collective advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Grant Fund Management: Oversee the administration of the $8 million state grant fund, ensuring all processes comply with state regulations and funder requirements.
Request for Proposal (RFP) Process: Design, launch, and manage a fair and competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process to direct millions to nonprofits, including application review, selection, and award notification based on Nonprofit Stabilization Fund
Grantee Relations & Support: Manage relationships with grantee organizations, providing guidance and support throughout the grant cycle.
Collaborative Network: Coordinate the connection of grantees to each other through organized training and networking opportunities to foster shared learning and collective impact.
Inter-Entity Coordination: Work in connection with the three other funded entities to ensure cohesive strategy, shared best practices, and aligned reporting.
Advocacy & Events: Coordinate with grantees and other funded entities on a joint Advocacy Day to amplify the collective voices of the network and advance systemic change.
Compliance & Reporting: Track grantee progress, manage reporting requirements, and ensure accurate financial documentation and compliance with all terms.
System Implementation: Implement systems and best practices to modernize the grant-making operations and increase transparency.
What We're Looking For
5-7+ years of experience managing significant grant portfolios, preferably with government or state funds.
Proven success designing and executing fair, competitive grant-making processes (RFP/RFQ).
Deep experience working with nonprofits and under-resourced communities.
Strong communicator with experience presenting to diverse stakeholders, including community leaders and government partners.
Inclusive leader who builds trust and partnerships across diverse organizations.
Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage complex projects and deadlines.
Knowledge of grant management software or platforms; advanced Excel/MS Office skills.
