A letter from the nyulyp president

Greetings,

Crystal Williams, NYULYP PresidentOn behalf of the New York Urban League Young Professionals (NYULYP), I’d like to welcome you to our home on the web and thank you in advance for your support of our continuing efforts to make the NYULYP the premier young professional organization in New York City.   We’ve accomplished a great deal so far, but there is much more that needs to be done.

The challenges we face are great and as the demand for resources continues to increase, fewer resources are being set aside to meet those needs.  Now, more than ever, your support is crucial in allowing us to continue making significant strides.  Specifically, our programming for the fiscal year focuses on the National Urban League’s empowerment agenda, which includes:

  • Education and Youth Empowerment
  • Economic Empowerment
  • Health and Quality of Life Empowerment
  • Civic Engagement Empowerment
  • Civil Rights and Racial Justice Empowerment

As a Young Professional organization, our goal is to empower young professionals dedicated to developing and implementing programs and services that will assist in our pursuit of social and economic equality for all New Yorkers.  Additionally, my personal goals are to recruit new “drum majors for change” (as described by our National President and CEO, Marc Morial) dedicated to our cause, to have a record breaking fundraising year, to offer professional and personal development for our members and, most importantly, to be of greater service to our constituency residing in the five boroughs of New York City.

I appreciate your commitment to the movement and your dedication to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.  Therefore, as we reflect on the past, work on the present, and prepare for the future, I ask for your continued support as we endeavor to "Empower Communities and Change Lives."

Yours in the movement,

Quiviya Von Eldridge
