About the Center
Opening in April 2010, the NYUL took over operations of the Verizon Technology Education Center. The Verizon Technology Education Center (VTEC) was built more than ten years ago at a cost of $2M. Located within Verizon it served as a community-based facility for showcasing and educating customers about advanced telecommunications technology and the speed at which this technology was developing. NYUL will now operate the Technology Center from Harlem Renaissance High School providing computer classes and education to community members and the students of Harlem Renaissance High School. This center is not simply a technology lab but an avenue for community members to improve their skills through guided support.
