Description:
An exciting and challenging experience is yours as a member of the development team for New York public media organization, a pioneering non-profit provider of television and Web content - and parent organization. An immediate opportunity is available for a fundraising professional to serve as Patron Programs Associate in the Individual Giving Department.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Patron Associate is a key second member of the fundraising team of three and will work closely with the Associate Director to meet annual goals by expanding the number of new Patrons ($1,500 - $24,999) and overseeing the Patron Family Foundation solicitation, reporting, and cultivation processes.
Research, identify and cultivate Patron prospects, preparing prospect lists for review by Patron and Development Committees, coordinate solicitation campaigns and identify prospectus clients;
Create compelling and “fresh” events that attract a minimum of 40 Patrons and/or prospects 4+ times per year;
Manage Author Lecture Series in conjunction with The New York Society Library, including scheduling authors, collaborating with designer and printers to draft, print, and mail Author Series postcards, co-manage logistical issues with NYSL leading up to and on the day of the event, and serve as point person for other program screening event opportunities for donors to attend from source both inside and outside of the organization;
Manage all aspects of the Patron DVD Library’s administration, volunteer management, database management, catalog migration to web, and preparation and production of ready-to-print catalogs. Oversee new title acquisition, Library database donor interest harvesting, and launch of updated Library to Patrons as vibrant refreshed benefit;
Compile data to generate dynamic and complex reports for analysis to maximize departmental revenue;
Work with Online Fundraising Department to increase visibility and better promote the Patron Program, develop monthly Patron e-Highlights copy, and steward e-solicitation and cultivation efforts.
Job Requirements:
To be considered, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and three to five (3-5) years of fundraising experience.
The ideal candidate must be highly organized with attention to detail; possess superior people skills, be able to take initiative, and work effectively and flexibly in a fast-paced, team environment.
Candidates should have strong interpersonal and communications skills, including excellent writing and editing skills. Strong computer skills required, including experience with fundraising databases such as Team Approach or Raisers Edge and with ability to analyze, manipulate, summarize, and present data.
