Interactive Editing Manager

JOB SUMMARY: An immediate opportunity is available for a Managing Editor responsible for the content on station Web sites - thirteen.org, wliw.org and the wnet.org. Reporting to the Senior Director, Interactive, the managing editor plays a critical role in preparing, monitoring and managing the online presence for public broadcasting’s largest television company. This is a highly visible position requiring exceptional communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to multitask and interact with internal departments and external audiences.
JOB DUTIES:
Editting the editorial calendar and daily publication of the homepage of the sites;
Provide editorial vision and produce local Web content;
Develop online original video projects;
Ensure that each site conforms to strategic goals and editorial standards;
Write and maintain institutional blogs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BS or BA, preferably in Journalism, Film, Television/Multimedia Production, or Liberal Arts;
Minimum of five years experience in multimedia production;
Minimum of five years editorial experience in print, online or broadcast journalism;
Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
Ability to prepare budgets and proposals for public television grants, foundations and internal use
Exceptional planning, organization, problem analysis and decision-making skills;
Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines, and ability to problem-solve when conflicting priorities arise;
Proficiency in Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and WordPress or similar content management systems
