Description:

Innovative editorial model in which we’ll both produce and curate online content – print, photos, graphics, interactive features, and of course lots and lots of video -- in the kind of continuous flow that today’s information consumers have come to expect from company.

REQUIREMENTS:

Play a central role in hiring of the on-air and in-the-field production team,
Create, coordinate and execute all efforts in crafting a compelling online content destination and on-air broadcast.  Supervise all show elements including writing, story selection, graphics, editing, production and execution of continuous posting of content, and weekly production of broadcast programming,
Develop day-to-day on-air and online look of the broadcast to attract the largest available audience,
Work with editorial team to coordinate “beat” coverage and presentation of content across broadcast and digital distribution platforms.  Create long-range editorial production and content coverage plans.
Coach and develop producers and other direct reports,
Provide editorial and production direction to Senior Content Editor, Senior Broadcast Producer, Beat Production teams, Associate Producers and field crews regarding content, coordination and cast execution.  Manage line producers and facilitate producer schedules,
Monitor competition and industry trends with particular emphasis on new media such as social networking and innovative newsgathering techniques and equipment,
Coordinate with other departments to develop effective promotions for upcoming shows, newscasts and events,
Develop and supervise budget and staffing allocations
Cultivate and nurture professional and collegial relationships with contributors, independent producers, commentators, public television stations and public radio producers, and other content providers to enlarge the pool of voices and ideas that contribute to the project

Qualifications:

 News and current affairs executive producer experience - Top 10 market national/network
Strong news writing and copyediting skills
Strong Up to date knowledge of video editing, graphics creation and live video production processes
Excellent editorial judgment
Must have extensive experience as executive producer creating, developing and delivering national  television news programs
College degree in journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent management skills and demonstrable experience building and  managing teams
Strong communication and conflict management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines
Experience using Avid, internet production tools and MS Office
Excellent writing and graphics skills with ability to provide an interesting and substantive product.

Candidates with Web content development & management, operations and production experience are highly preferred.
