Job Title: Assistant Media Director
Description:
To manage and lead a team of media planners/buyers through the media research, planning, buying, presentation and stewardship process in a collaborative 360 manner covering all media formats on a day-to-day basis. Serve as a right-hand person and back-up /representative to the VP Media Director in management role, attendance at meetings and client presentations, enhance communication of information throughout the Media Group, enhance collaboration with Finance Support Group; instill better partnership with Creative, eDG, Account Team and Media; manage special projects for VP Media Director.
Responsibilities:
Manage/lead a Media Team on 360 research/planning/buying , plan development on a daily basis across numerous Prudential U.S. businesses and across all media formats ( TV, Print, OOH, Digital).
Coordinate projects in a collaborative manner with other internal areas: Client Services (Account), eDG, Creative, analytics and GMR (Market Research).
Set up processes to enable timely delivery of media plans & projects.
Enhance competitive analysis process and capabilities.
Enhance optimization systems for media buys/campaigns.
Teach/train the Media Team on cross-media and specific areas of expertise to keep up with the marketplace. Set up regular training sessions for ad agency and BU personnel on media, with emphasis on offline media and/or emerging trends.
Assist VP, Media Director with special projects; represent her at meetings as necessary.
Continue to enhance/evaluate our Media Research tools and coordinate training to keep up with technology and research capabilities
Job Requirements:
9-15 years experience at advertising agencies in Media Planning/Buying and Research.
Solid knowledge of Media Department functions and interface with other departments.
Management experience supervising others; strong people skills; solid team player; comfortable presenting to B.U. Marketing associates.
Strong presentation skills - oral and written/deck development/powerpoint/excel.
Integral knowledge of media marketplace - - emerging media, CPM trends, spend trends, etc.
Traditional (offline) and Digital media experience and knowledge required.
Pays attention to detail, established strong work ethics, very capable in multi-tasking, solid project management skills; timeliness of output.
Understanding of importance of good vendor relationships and willingness to represent Prudential as an "ambassador" to the ad agency to external vendors.
Solid Media Research knowledge and skills - IMS, MRI, Nielsen @ Plan, Ad Relevance, DART, et als.
Some Financial account experience preferred, but not required.
