The New York Urban League is Partnering With
the U.S. Census Bureau to Support the 2010 Census
be counted...
We are pleased to announce that the New York Urban League (NYUL) is partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau to help achieve a complete and accurate count of our population as part of the 2010 Census. The census gives us a voice and power to influence change and help to ensure the needs of the Black community are met – today and in the future. Consider the following:
- One of the shortest census forms in history, the 2010 Census form asks 10 questions nd takes about 10 minutes to complete.
- Your participation will shape the future of our community. Census data will guide local-decision makers on where to build new hospitals, schools, child-care and senior centers, roads and more.
- Census forms will be delivered to households in March 2010. Complete and mail back the form immediately. Census workers will visits households that do not return forms to take a count in person.
Please spread the word and let others in our community know about this important effort. Watch for more information in the coming months, including special NYUL and Census 2010 events!
